The new workplace is one of instability and uncertainty. Are you running along with your work for mercy on the economic waves? Stay on top of your career and your summary has never been so important. The way to manage your career in an unpredictable environment is by being preventive. Even if you are one of those rare breeders who has a written plan for your career, you will need to be open for choice on the way.

John Kromboltz came up with a theoretical approach to career development called "Planned Happenance". It involves using what you learn with your life-style in a variety of experiences to control the future in the future. Estimated instances cannot be confused due to lack of planning. Many are working in jobs that they have never had because of different life situations and lack of planning hit them there. For example, I do not hear children say, "I want a grocery store when I grow up," but there are plenty of grocery stores out there. An organized event has general or special directions, guiding learning from activities over time.
